Mansoura University has achieved remarkable progress in the Shanghai ranking 2022, In comparison to ranking 701–800 for the year 2021, it has advanced by 100 positions to be placed 601–700 on the international level. The Academic Ranking of World Institutions (ARWU) has published an annual list of the world's best universities based on a set of objective measures and third-party data. ARWU has been recognized as the precursor of global university rankings and the most trustworthy league table. ARWU uses six objective indicators to rank world universities, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers, number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded™ and Social Sciences Citation Index™ in the Web of Science™, and per capita performance of a university. More than 2500 universities are ranked by ARWU every year and the best 1000 are published. The presence of Mansoura University in the Shanghai ranking for the fifth year is regarded as a significant success because this Ranking is mostly based on the number of Nobel Prize winners, therefore Mansoura University competes strongly to remain in the top 1000 institutions in the world.
