In 2025, the Korean government plans to invite 1,820 international students to pursue graduate degrees (master's and doctoral) in Korea under the GKS program. The scholarship covers various academic fields offered by Korean universities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Korea. Korean citizens and dual citizens (one who have Korean citizenship and citizenship of another country) are NOT eligible to apply.
- Age: Must be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2025 (born after September 1, 1985).
- Degree Requirements:
- Master's Program: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or be expected to receive one by August 31, 2025.
- Doctoral Program: Applicants must hold a master's degree or be expected to receive one by August 31, 2025.
- Grades: Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4.3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, or scores/grades equivalent to these in other scales.
