Mansoura University Vice President Receives McMaster University Representative to Discuss Activating Academic Partnership

In line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University and McMaster University in Canada, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Mansoura University, received Dr. Moataz Mohamed, a representative from McMaster University, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The visit aimed to discuss mechanisms for activating the terms of the memorandum, which includes sending students from the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University on full scholarships for Master's and PhD degrees.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and was coordinated by Dr. Osama El-Rawy Shahda, Assistant Professor in the Public Works Engineering Department and the agreement coordinator.

During the meeting, the possibility of expanding the scope of cooperation to include similar agreements with other departments at McMaster University was explored, along with discussing mechanisms for joint supervision of students to ensure maximum academic benefit.

Following the meeting, Prof. Sherif Masoud El-Badawy presented the Faculty's plaque to Dr. Moataz Mohamed, who then took a tour of the faculty's labs and departments, in addition to visiting the fossil museum at the Faculty of Science. The visit's activities are scheduled to continue with introductory lectures for students and researchers.
