Mansoura University Vice President Meets with Polish Researcher to Advance Cooperation in Vertebrate Paleontology

As part of Mansoura University's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and supporting joint scientific research, Professor Dr. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, received Dr. Georgios L. Georgalis, a professor at the Institute of Animal Systematics and Evolution of the Polish Academy of Sciences, in his office on Monday, October 20, 2025.

The visit aims to discuss ways to activate scientific cooperation with the research team at the university's Vertebrate Paleontology Center, particularly in the study of Egyptian vertebrate fossils discovered in the Fayoum region.

During the meeting, a fruitful discussion took place regarding the importance of the scientific discoveries made by the Mansoura University team in recent years, which have contributed to positioning the university as a leader among regional universities in the study of natural history in the Middle East. Mechanisms for supporting and developing research capabilities in Egypt and the region through international partnerships were also reviewed.

Following the meeting, Dr. Georgalis toured the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center, where he was briefed on the latest fossil collections housed at the center and praised the outstanding research efforts of the team.
