Delegation from University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Visits Mansoura University to Strengthen Medical and Research Cooperation

As part of activating the cooperation protocol between the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and Mansoura University, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, received a high-level delegation from UTMB (USA) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The visit aimed to discuss ways to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two universities.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Ashraf Shouma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Alaa Wafa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Asst. Prof. Mohamed Gar El-Alam, Director of the International Relations Office; Asst. Prof. Yousra El-Far, Deputy Director of the office; and Asst. Prof. Shadi Awny, Deputy Director of the office.

The meeting covered mechanisms for activating the partnership in areas of mutual interest, particularly in higher medical education and scientific research, as well as the exchange of expertise and training programs for students and researchers in specialized medical fields.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Tarek Ghalwash presented the university's commemorative plaques to the visiting delegation, appreciating the visit and affirming the importance of building bridges of cooperation with major global medical institutions.

The delegation's visit program is scheduled to include a tour of several distinguished medical centers at the university, primarily the Urology and Nephrology Center and the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Center. The tour will allow them to see firsthand the capabilities and expertise of Mansoura University in these leading specialties.
