The University of Glasgow African Excellence Award aims to support high achieving students from across Africa in their journey to become Future World Changers. They are looking for students who wish to undertake Masters level study (postgraduate diploma or certificate programmes are not eligible for this scholarship), to further develop their knowledge and skills, in order to positively contribute to their community in the future.
The University is offering up to 16 scholarships for International students from Africa, starting a one year postgraduate taught Masters programme, in any discipline for academic session 2026/27. The scholarship is a full tuition fee waiver.

To be eligible, applicant must:
- Demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to a UK 1st Class Honours;
- Hold an offer of a place for a postgraduate taught one year Masters programme for September 2026 intake (offer is not needed to apply but applicants will require an offer to be considered for interview, and should take programme application timelines into consideration as outlined on programme webpages);
- Have International fee status;
- Be domiciled in Africa and hold a passport from one of the eligible countries;
- Be able to demonstrate a clear career and/or development plan that will be supported by Masters level study (via application form);
- as an international student studying at the university, recipients of this scholarship will be required to meet the UKVI living costs/financial requirement. More information on this can be found linked here.
