Distinguished Representation of the "Salam Lab" Team at the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology conference

Four researchers from the "Salam Lab" team at the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center—Shorouk El-Ashkar, Abdallah Gohar, Belal Salem, and Hossam El-Sakka—presented their scientific research at the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology conference held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, from October 29 to November 2, 2024. The conference is one of the largest scientific gatherings in this field, featuring thousands of scientists from around the world.

The researchers' participation included three lectures and a poster, allowing them to showcase the latest discoveries their Egyptian team is working on. This marks the tenth consecutive participation of the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center at this conference, reflecting the center's ongoing commitment to scientific research and engagement with the international scientific community. The center boasts over 35 published international papers and more than 60 research abstracts presented at global scientific forums, enhancing its status as one of the leading research centers in the region.

It is worth noting that the center has achieved numerous significant discoveries over the past years, including Mansourasaurus, a new species of dinosaur discovered in Egypt, and Tutcetus an ancient whale that recently earned the Guinness World Record for being the smallest whale in the ancient whale kingdom. These remarkable discoveries are considered major scientific achievements for the center, positioning it prominently among global research institutions.
