According to the "Webometrics" Citation Index version of July 2024, Mansoura University topped the Egyptian universities and ranked 1st with a total of 703,287 citations, and also ranked 636th globally.
It is worth noting that the Spanish "Webometrics" Citation Index is based on the websites of universities and the rate of citations in internationally published scientific research, relying on the "Google Scholar" search engine for citations of global research.
The ranking Urges academic institutions worldwide to submit their scientific activities that reflect their academic level on the Internet, as it relies on measuring the performance of universities through web indicators and bibliometric indicators related to scientific research, through their websites within criteria that include the size and scope of the university's website, links and the number of external networks associated with the university's web pages, the appearance of the university's website on other sites, the number of research papers published in the best global journals, as well as the citations to them.
