Tutcetus has officially made it into the Guinness World Records as the smallest species of basilosaurid whales ever discovered

 For the First Time in the History of Mansoura University:

Mansoura University’s Vertebrate Paleontology Center Enters the Guinness World Records

The Vertebrate Paleontology Center at Mansoura University has achieved a global milestone by being announced in the Guinness World Records for possessing the smallest fossil of ancient whales from the royal family of ancient seas" called  "Tutcetus" named in honor of King Tutankhamun, discovered in rocks that are 41 million years old in Egypt.

In this regard, Prof Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, extends his sincere congratulations to Prof . Hesham Salam,  the founder of the Vertebrate Paleontology Center, along with the entire team at the center for this significant achievement. He emphasized that the entry of one of the university's distinguished scientific centers into the Guinness World Records for the first time in the university’s history marks a major success  in scientific research.
