On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, President of Mansoura University, welcomed a high-level delegation from Sinop University in Turkey at his office. The delegation included 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗮𝘇, Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, and 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗥ı𝘇𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗸, Vice Rector for International Relations. The meeting was also attended by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗸 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵, Vice President for Higher Education at Mansoura University, also attending the meeting from the Turkish side was Dr. Mustafa El-Ashmawy, Coordinator of International Cooperation and the Erasmus Program at the university. From the Egyptian side, attendees included Prof. Marwa Hassan, Director of the International Relations Office; Assistant Prof. Yousra El-Far and Assistant Prof. Shady Aouni, Deputy Directors of the International Relations Office; and Dr. Mahmoud Abdallah, Coordinator of Tourism Programs at the International Relations Office.
The visit aimed to formalize academic and research collaboration through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) under the Erasmus Program. The MoU was signed by 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗸 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵 on behalf of Mansoura University and 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗮𝘇 on behalf of Sinop University.
𝙆𝙚𝙮 𝘼𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣
The meeting discussed potential cooperation in:
- Faculty and researcher exchange programs.
- Joint supervision of master's and doctoral theses.
- Collaborative research projects and scholarships.
- Development of joint and dual academic degrees.
- Short-term specialized academic programs.
- Collaboration in e-learning, curriculum development, and training programs.
- Organization of workshops, conferences, and international seminars.
- Sharing academic and scientific materials and resources.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 expressed his gratitude to the Sinop delegation for selecting Mansoura University as their first Egyptian partner, emphasizing the institution's commitment to Egypt's Vision 2030 and the national strategy for higher education and research. He highlighted Mansoura University’s distinguished educational programs, technological advancements, and achievements in digital transformation, including its status as the first Egyptian university accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗮𝘇 praised Mansoura University’s international academic reputation and advanced facilities. He provided an overview of Sinop University, established in 2007 in northern Turkey by the Black Sea. The university has 8 faculties, 4 higher education institutes, 5 vocational schools, and 5 research centers, focusing on technological, scientific, cultural, and economic development. Prof. Yilmaz invited Prof. Khater to visit Sinop University to explore further collaboration.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗸 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵 emphasized the significance of the Erasmus Program in promoting international academic partnerships. He noted that Mansoura University actively participates in the program, hosting faculty members from partner European universities for training and teaching annually.
𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣
The visit concluded with an exchange of plaques and gifts. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 presented the Mansoura University Plaque, while 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗸 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵 gifted the Graduate Studies and Research Sector Plaque to the delegation.
The Turkish delegation toured various facilities at Mansoura University, including the Faculty of Nursing, the Paleontology Center at the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
