On Sunday, October 20, 2024, Prof Cherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Prof Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Graduate Studies and Research, inaugurated the
"13th Book Fair at Mansoura University"
The Fair organized by the university's Central Library from October 20 to 30, 2024, Prof Khater toured the participating publishers and praised the efforts of those involved in the scientific and artistic exhibitions at the fair. He added that the book fair is one of the most important tools of enhancing scientific research, which contributes to improving the university's ranking.
Prof Ghalwash noted that the fair features approximately 100,000 books and authors, along with various activities. It includes government, academic, and cultural publishers, as well as a range of workshops and activities, with participation from six university centers: the University Development Center , the Center for Educational Technology, the Service Center for people with Disabilities, the Center of Digital Transformation, the Center for Childhood Care , and the University Center of Career Development.
Dr. Ahmed Abdallah highlighted the participation of 33 publishers , including 7 government publishers: Al-Ahram Foundation, Akhbar Al-Youm, Dar Al-Ma'arif in Mansoura, the Egyptian General Book Organization, Dar Al-Hilal, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf. There are also 15 cultural publishers and 11 academic publishers.
The fair offers discounts on book prices ranging from 20% to 25%.
