The Japan Foundation is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Japan Foundation Awards 2025.
Inaugurated in 1973, the year following the Japan Foundation’s establishment, the Japan Foundation Awards will mark the 52nd anniversary in 2025. The awards are presented to individuals or organizations that have significantly contributed and are expected to contribute further to the promotion of international mutual understanding and friendship through their academic, artistic, or cultural activities. We look forward to receiving your nominations.
Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates: Individuals or organizations, regardless of nationality, are eligible for nomination. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Fields of Activity: Nominees should be actively engaged in one or more of the following areas:
- Arts and Cultural Exchange: Promoting Japanese arts and culture internationally or engaging in collaborative cultural projects.
- Japanese-Language Education Overseas: Advancing the study and teaching of the Japanese language abroad.
- Japanese Studies and Global Partnerships: Enhancing understanding of Japan through education, research, and intellectual collaboration.
