Call for Nominations: UNESCO/Juan Bosch Prize 2026

UNESCO invites Member States and non-governmental organizations to submit nominations for the UNESCO/Juan Bosch Prize for the Promotion of Social Science Research in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Named after the celebrated author and politician Professor Juan Bosch, this prize honors his legacy by supporting critical and rigorous research that strengthens public policies and social development in the region.

The Prize:

  • A monetary award of $12,000 USD.

The prize rewards the best social science thesis by young researchers. The research must focus on social development policies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The deadline for nominations, submitted through your National Commission and not on an individual basis, must be sent by email no later than 15 February 2026 at midnight (GMT+1, Paris time).

Key Details:

  • Awarded every two years.

  • Nominations must be submitted by Member States or NGOs with official relations with UNESCO.
