The UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize (3 awards)
Established in 1989, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Korea, it gives special consideration to mother language-based literacy development.
Each prizewinner receives a medal, a diploma and US$20.000.

The UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy (3 awards)
Established in 2005, with the support of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, it gives special consideration functional literacy, leveraging technological environments, in support of adults in rural areas and out-of-school youth.
Each prizewinner receives a medal, a diploma and US$30.000.

The 2024 call is open until 19 July.
Those wishing to apply should provide the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO with a copy of the form submitted electronically, as well as an endorsed letter of nomination from the institution they are affiliated with. This should be sent via the email address provided below, no later than July 5, 2024, to allow the committee to consider the submitted applications and inform the organization before July 19, 2024.
Please note that any nominations that do not meet the award criteria and requirements, or that are received after the mentioned deadline, will not be considered.
