Applications for the MEXT University Recommendation Scholarship (Fall 2026 Intake) are now open at Kansai University.

For high-achieving engineers and researchers looking to bridge the gap between their current expertise and global innovation, this is a premier opportunity to pursue a fully-funded Master’s or Doctoral degree in Japan. This "full-ride" scholarship, sponsored by the Japanese government, is designed for the world’s most promising change-makers in the fields of Science and Engineering.

Selected scholars will receive a comprehensive support package:

  • Monthly Stipend: JPY 143,000 – 145,000 for living expenses.

  • Full Tuition Waiver: Both admission and tuition fees are 100% waived.

  • Program Duration: 2 years for Master’s or 3 years for Doctoral degrees.

  • Exclusive Selection: Only two students will be selected university-wide for this recommendation.

The selection process is highly competitive and time-sensitive. Please note the following deadlines:

  • January 20, 2026: Deadline for document submission and securing preliminary advisor approval.

  • January 23, 2026: Notification to candidates recommended to MEXT.

  • End of February 2026: Final selection results announced.
