Abstract submission for presenting at EPDIC18

The 18th European Powder Diffraction Conference, EPDIC18, is scheduled to take place in Padova from August 30th to September 2nd, 2024.

The EPDIC in close collaboration with the Italian Association of Crystallography – AIC, invite you to Padova (Italy) on the occasion of the 18th European Powder Diffraction Conference, to participate in the activities of EPDIC18, to be held from 30 August to 02 September, 2024.
The Local Organizers and the permanent International Committee of EPDIC, are crafting an enticing program for EPDIC18, encompassing the latest advancements in crystallography and related sciences, designed to appeal to both young and seasoned scientists, as well as companies.
Featuring 12 microsymposia, 24 keynote speakers, 6 plenary lectures, and 2 prestigious awards, the program will encompass a wide array of both traditional and emerging topics of interest to the powder community. These topics span materials science, methods, computing, artificial intelligence, and instrumentation.
Be sure to explore the program and submit your abstract for oral or poster presentations to share your scientific and technical findings with colleagues and engage with key figures in the field.

All submitted abstracts must:

  • follow the A4 template provided (click HERE to download the EPDIC18 abstract template)
  • be written in English
  • have a maximum length of 1 page
  • have the presenting author listed first among the authors
  • be uploaded as .pdf file
  • be named by your last name, followed by an underscore and the MS number (e.g., lastname_MS#)

Each registered participant is allowed to be the presenting author for only one submitted abstract within the scientific program (PL, KN, or MS), choosing one of the MS in the following topics list, while can be a non-presenting co-author on an unlimited number of abstracts.

Topics

  • MS01 The current state and future prospects of Functional Materials
  • MS02 In situ and operando studies
  • MS03 Structure and dynamics in disordered materials with total scattering methods
  • MS04 Materials for energy conversion and storage
  • MS05 Innovation in structure solution and refinement
  • MS06 Nanomaterials, surfaces and interfaces
  • MS07 Pharmaceutical and biological materials
  • MS08 Magnetic structures and neutron scattering
  • MS09 Combining complementary techniques for structural studies
  • MS10 Microstructure, texture and line profile analysis
  • MS11 Artificial Intelligence for powder diffraction
  • MS12 Quantitative analysis: state of the art and new perspectives

In the event that the request for an oral presentation cannot be accommodated, the contribution will be automatically redirected to the poster session.

Deadlines

  • JANUARY 30 Opening of abstract submission
  • APRIL 30 Deadline for abstract submission (abstracts submitted later will be allocated as posters)
  • MAY 15 Notification of abstract acceptance
