The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS-KNAW) has officially opened its call for the 2026/27 academic year, offering a unique opportunity for researchers to pursue curiosity-driven research in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

  • Deadline: March 16, 2026, at 12:00 noon (CET).

  • Eligibility: Open to scholars in the humanities and social sciences, as well as those working at the interface of these fields and other disciplines.

What You Will Need to Apply:

  • Project Proposal: A description (max 1,500 words) detailing your research question, methodology, and relevance.

  • CV & Publication List: A 3-page document highlighting your academic trajectory and 10 key publications.

  • Expert Nominees: Names of three international experts who can provide an independent review of your proposal.
