Workshop Announcement: "Making Archaeological Excavations a Better Visitor Experience"

The DAAD Cairo Academy (DKA), in collaboration with the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA), is organizing a unique workshop focused on the development of visitor-oriented offers for knowledge transfer at archaeological sites, using Gebel El-Mawta in the Siwa Oasis as an example.
 
Workshop Dates: 05-10 April 2025
 
Instructors:
Prof. Dr. Guido Fackler, Professor of Museum Studies at the University of Würzburg
Prof. Dr. Katja Lembke, Director of the Landesmuseum Hannover & Honorary Professor for Classical Archaeology at the University of Göttingen
 
Target Participants:
Local Participants from Siwa (please indicate your location in the application)
Professionals in museum/heritage studies, museum/heritage education, site management, tour guiding, Egyptology, Graeco-Roman archaeology, and more.
Knowledge in digital advertising and photography is a plus.
A good command of English is required.
